Knit for AIDS orphans in South Africa

KAScare is a registered charity for AIDS orphans and deprived children in South Africa.  (It is estimated that there are currently around 1.9 million orphans in South Africa).  They supply knitted blankets, vests, jumpers and hats to orphanages, hospitals, shack settlements and deprived areas in and around Johannesburg.  Sometimes they travel as far as 200 miles to deliver the items.

See website www.knit-a-square.com for lots more information.

Although this is a registered charity, it only has two full time paid employees.  Everything else is done by church and community volunteers.
